What is a good budget build to run AoC?
I don't have money to burn, so no I can't do the best of the best when it comes to computer rigs.
So I am asking the people in the know, cause my current computer is showing it's age, what would be a good setup to run AoC on the computer?
I found out in alpha 0 mine current setup isn't cutting it. haha.
I need ideas, thx guy.

I have to check my specs, but I know my current setup needs work. it's about 4 years old now. lol I know my processor is only a 3, I forget the spec name. No launching at me ok, it was good when I 1st got it haha.
I was on XP, but after getting a few kicks in RAM and switching ut my graphics card to something more updated, I have windows 10 working on it now. To a point.
I know I need to just get a new setup, long over due, but I have to work within a budget, the plan is to get the basics I need, then work on the core parts to make it work with this new game. So yes, I will be piecing it together as I go.
I know, it's why I have to figure out what I need to do now. I have time. I am not planning to buy it until this game is in Beta anyway. Then I will test the new limits of the new build I need to do.
Processors are going to be the next biggest investment. I have an I7, and that's more than enough to run anything out there.
I'd recommend going to https://pcpartpicker.com and using that as a baseline for what you want. There's stuff you may be able to cannibalize from your old rig if it's not too obsolete.
Oh sorry I am staying under 1200
Ok now I got the processor, I run a i3, it was good at the time I 1st got it, yes I know it needs to be better, so sounds like I be getting something close to the i7, but in two years maybe something better. Right now just looking to see other options need to be on the table. The cards, well I will just see what is able to run the game.
As stated above the GPU is pretty expensive at the moment, if your staying under 1200 budget you can get a 1050 under $200 bucks. i5 usually around 300. Leaves some room for your budget, for your RAM. keep in mind this comp wont be a beast but you should be able to play the game at a decent level. If you have any questions etc feel free to ask.
But for us to Help we really need the specs. to see where your computer is lacking, and what will give you the best experience switching out parts etc.
When I get back home, I will look at the spec on my current build, and you can tell me how far off I already know I am. lol
I don't think aoC will be running in 4K, or will it?
My recomendation( Im not an expert so correct me if Im wrong):
CPU: I5 8400(167€)
GPU: 1060 6gb(320€) Better to wait till next series gpus( probably this summer)
Ram: some 8gb or 16gb 2400mhz (its up to you)
250gb SSD(optional)
I made a 1050$ build with these specs so you can buy a monitor with the rest.
I dont know how demanding the game will be but i think 6 cores and a card like that are very decent.
For a long time now, the best bang for your buck on a gaming PC for anyone asking this type of question has consisted of 5 main components:
1. non-K series i5 (anyone asking this question will not be overclocking)
2. latest GTX ending in 60 or 70, depending on budget
3. at least 8gb of RAM, 16gb if you can swing it
4. name brand PSU at 500W+
5. any SSD at least 240 gb in size (120gb - 128gb is just too small)
A site like AVADirect will allow you to customize such a PC for right around $1200...which just so happens to be the "bang for your buck sweet spot", in my opinion.

Total comes out to $1275 and it comes with a 3 year warranty on the entire system. You can shave off a little more cash by ditching the HDD, or getting a slightly smaller SSD. Main thing to do is not waste money on a fancy case, just get one that comes with 2 fans and call it good. You may want to upgrade to a GPU with 6gb of GDDR5 to future proof yourself a bit. In fact, I would definitely do that. I shouldn't have selected the 3gb GPU.
This site is so good I don't even bother building my own PCs anymore.
Cool thank for the info.
Thx this also helps. I have time to figure out the best setup, no rush yet. thx again
I think you right on with the core, anything less than 6 will not work to well.
Gpu prices are starting to go down but who knows, maybe situation changes in the future or (I hope) it gets better.
I`ll probably wait for the new ones, keep in mind AoC will release shortly before 2020.
That is part of my plan. I have time, I don't want to over pay for something, and later on it's a lot cheaper.
I’m an Intel fan without a doubt, but that’s because I don’t typically utilize a lot of video rendering etc. My PC’s are strictly built to maximize my gaming experience. With that said, Intel is a bit pricier. You could probably get a better deal with AMD.
Personally, there’s one major thing I won’t skimp on while I’m building a PC, and that’s the motherboard. This way I can upgrade gradually piece by piece. (Of course, I say that, but I keep mine upgraded and it’s a beast lol I work in IT though, so it’s kind of expected)
Anyway, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
