Character name reservation

Hi everyone,

We've been told in the last stream (may 4th 2018) that the name reservation will be done according to the amount of the backers package. I disagree a little bit. 

I think it should be according to the amount, but also to the earlier package.

i.e. a smaller package of the kickstarter should be able to pick his name before a bigger one of the summer package. So it would be more fair. Someone who pledges allegiance sooner should be more rewarded than someone who waits the last minute. 

Also, how could that be attributed? There will be several servers. I hope the in-game name could be taken on different servers? So it can't be done before the server choice... 

I'd like some more details regarding the logistic surrounding the character name reservation..

    Unfortunately the SB was implemented to allow those that wanted to, but for whatever reason could not, back on the KS. For your example I think both the SB and KS have to be seen as occurring at the same time. Otherwise the KS gives an advantage the SB doesn't have even though they were meant to be as equal as possible.

    I am also under the impression your reserved name will be on one server. How that would be implemented I am unsure, perhaps reserved until you log in and use it which locks it to a server and opens it on others?

    I am a KS backer w/ name reservation, not a SB if that matters.

    Nah, doesn't matter @Azathoth. You know what is really going to get his knickers in a twist is that it is going to go by pledge amount, not when. So the 10k then the 5k, 2.5k, 1k, and then a whole mess of 500 BoWs and the equivalent packages from the website. Since so far the $500 packages are the only ones that offer name reservation. Then will come the progression all the way down to pioneers in the KS. It is a simple enough process for them to create a master list that won't allow certain names to be used on any server. Next time you go play an MMO try to get the name Hitler or Whitepower, or any other "banned" word. All they have to do is link your permission to use that name to your account, and boom, you are the only one that can use it.

    I don't have an issue with it, I only got the Braver of Worlds pack. Not sure why anyone else should. Saying it's only fair that someone who only chips in 100 bucks gets to pick before someone who chips in 10k to game development is a complete joke.. Which part of that is fair.. The same rules apply at an auction, just cos they bid first doesn't mean you're entitled to throw a tantrum when someone who outbid you gets the win.

    Summer and Kickstarted are pretty much the same thing because of paypal issues if I remember correctly, what's more there is no reason to give preference to people who backed earlier compared to those who put more money into it.
