earliest access?

This is how bundles were described during kick starter. I am a little tired of receiving emails stating they had alpha 0 with 2000 people helping..2000 of who? 2000 " lottery winners"? 2000 friends and family? 2000 people who paid nothing to get early access?

  • The lottery/drawing system for NDA keys was described at least a month before Kickstarter and is clearly stated in the Kickstarter FAQ from the day of its launch.

doesn't change a thing. But the store is on track right? Never were we ever given the impression that there would be over 2000 TWO THOUSAND names drawn. 52 weeks in a year and we are looking at.....  38  randoms drawn weekly? LOL SMDH

You do start to wonder about the "Tough shit, you should have read the small print!" mentality. They should just give everyone who bought packages with the "earliest access to Ashes!!" tagline on it the an A0 key and NDA. Would squash the problem, and really wouldn't impact their testing at all since <REDACTED>
  • There were 1,263 Alpha-0 keys given away at PAX East alone.

  • Surely the most important thing is not about "playing" in the alpha but to test the game I mean the more people who test the game the better the feedback the devs will get. I mean we are all here to see ashes become the MMO we hope it will be.
  • I think the main "bitch" is that the BoW was plugged with that specific tagline on the KS page and people feel a bit of a bait and switch was perpetrated when they found out later that others would be experiencing the game in any form before they would. Doesn't matter a single bit whether they put in in a FAQ a month before, for many people their first exposure to AOC was the KS page and the livestreams during it. Pissing off people that were willing to drop $500 bucks or more does them no favors in the long run. We do have the rumored Alpha 0.5 for BoW and above KS/Summer that will take place just before A1P1, or was that a misunderstanding?

Yeah, I had the same problem when I backed the game. When it says "Invite to Closed Alpha - Phase 1 (Earliest Access to Ashes!)" it did get my hopes up to play the earliest version but I found out after that it did say alpha 0 is friends and family which I thought was in-house testing. truth be told I paid for the braver of worlds pack (still a terrible name) for the life time sub mainly the alpha 1 was just a bonus for me ^^
  • I'm just saying. I don't know about other peoples visits and referrals but I have roughly 14 pages full of visits due to my advertising for this game via guilds and facebook and second life.(I'm sure others have more). My actual referrals dropped off a cliff in Jan 018 and are at a stand still and I'm having to guildsplain and friendsplain and blogsplain why so many people are currently testing and getting to see this game when people I convinced to invest in KS get to see a twitch stream sporadically and the release date is starting to look "vaporish".

I do think 500$ should give u access to alpha 0 that runs now. I know alpha 1 comes in 2-3 months but still. who in their right mind pay 500$ for alpha. maybe the server cannot handle anything but few people at once at this point.

Years ago Dev hired special people to test them now they just make people buy in and test it for them. not saying its bad but I am sure the average 500$ user will not notice and report like a real person with a testing job will do.

I wouldn't be in this group and that doesn't bother me one bit but I have friends who spent 500.00 and I am finding it problematic to remain a cheerleader as they are losing faith..fast.

I can only assume 500$ price cap is to make sure they don't get a lot of people in the alpha. basically you pay 15x12 = 180$ for sub for a year. 320$ to access to test an alpha. I guess 100$ in shop which I am not sure how excited about it . I can assure you that as a Dota 2 player it took years before the shop was actually worth buying stuff for cosmetics. do I think it worth to pay 320$ to play alpha . tbh atm I have not much to play. but I already pay for alpha's just to basically leave it. lets face it an alpha is an alpha even its MMO . it looks amazing for pre alpha from all the videos. but at the end of the day it will have little to do . it is make sense . alpha is to test server and bugs. I don't think you even test combat at this point.
