Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

Mix and match

in Ashes Of Creation General Discussion
I've been thinking about this for a while now but I'm not sure if it's been asked. Can we mix and match our cosmetic from the store? I know a lot of us have bought gear from the ashes store but I'm not sure if we can have a mixture of our outfits.

for example, can we wear the necro robes with the new cloak

    That's a good question, @nagash.  I just assumed the appearance items consisted of multi slot components that could be mixed and match, but I guess I haven't seen anything specifically to confirm that assumption. 

    I sincerely do hope that the appearance items aren't "whole" in the sense that its one item that changes your whole outfit. 

    I have seen it accomplished either way in past games....

    Just by looking at what those items are i want to say yes. One is a robe and i believe the other is called an accessory(not a costume) so i'd think you would have slots for both. This is just my observation though.

    I do want to know if these costumes will be broken up into separate pieces that we can mix and match or are all one piece you can apply, similar to GW2's outfits.

    That's what I thought as well. guild wars had it so every outfit would override anything you wore and it aggravated me to no end, I just hope ashes avoid the system.

    Didn't they say that certain cosmetics would fill certain slots on the cosmetic paperdoll, and that others would fill all slots? Jeffrey gave the example (don't remember exactly which livestream) that the racials like the angelic would overwrite the whole paperdoll, while others would be on a slot by slot basis. So for the robes, depends on if they go in the cloak slot or the armor slot. If cloak, no. If armor, yes.

    I'm pretty sure that the appearance slots will work like EQ2 and those 2 items should work well together as one is a robe and the other is a backpack.

    I'm not a fan of the new items but I prefer a more regal look that to the rags the greenskins use but that's just me. I just wanted to know if we could pick and match our outfits.

    Elegance first and foremost ;) well it would be nice to be able to mix and match them, hopefully we will get some mage cosmetics soon :3
