    I think Steven has made it clear by now that Intrepid expect a certain quality from my.com and that they will be accountable for any lack of quality on their part. The jury is out of course, but I feel by now, we can either choose to trust that Steven knows what he's doing or roll on the confirmed NA server with EU time. The choice is yours :)
  • Watch thelazypeons latest video on the my.com decision and how it may shake out, goes into depth about possible repercussions of my.com not hitting contract targets.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGsXie8d8mM&t=118s
  • As a side note, Intrepid has stated they are in talks with Google's cloud platform for their self-publishing in NA. Possibly also OCE.
  • Intrepid has considerable contractual leverage on my.com, so to say that my.com needs to maintain the quality Intrepid expects them to deliver. That is no p2w, good account security (2F-auth) and so on. Watch Peon's video for a better explanation (see comment above)
  • At this point just deal with it,  literally the game will be not be influenced by my.com because they have no say in how the game is going to work/its content etc.
  • I don't think that's a worry at this point.
  • I thought Amazon was making their own MMO. if that is the case why would they want ashes on their servers it just means more competition

    Because they like money.

    Now what gave you that idea?
  • Anyone have any idea on where they actually plan on hosting the servers location wise in the US?

    I don't think its been stated yet
  • I Hope for the German Players they will have good Servers in Frankfurt am Main
  • They are going to need some really beefy servers to run this game smoothly with all of the massive battles and expected players per servers.  I believe that they are going to run on the company that has the most robust/powerful servers for the best price.  Who they go with to host their servers will depend on how many sysadmins/network engineers they have on staff they might lean towards a more support friendly hosting provider.

    For example, AWS does not have a friendly support system unless you pay immense amount of money for it, but their cloud servers are extremely competitive.  On the other hand Rackspace may not have the most competitive cloud server prices, but the support that you get that is bundled in with the cost of servers is the best in the business.

    I expect Steven to play this game a lot, and as a gamer himself he isn't going to want to be playing on servers that can't carry their weight.  That is why Intrepid is so unique when they tackle these types of problems, they want a better player experience before draining the players of their funds.

    @GMSteven

    I really want some great servers, so when we decide it is GM hunting time, you guys are so fucked :D We used to be able to go GM hunting in Tera until they got super lazy and fired a bunch of admins :( It is a blast hunting down the guys that had a hand in making the game just so we can tell everyone. We killed a developer/admin guys, WOOHOO!

    Anyone else really wanna hunt admins just for the reputation it would bring if you actually kill one?
