it sadden me to find out this is going to be a pay to play ,all your hard work will be undone by this money strategy

    You are soooo wrong!  I was looking for a subscription game when I heard about Ashes, it was one of the attractions for me and also for many others.  The player base is less toxic and more community oriented.  If a game is good and you like playing it, you should support it.

    I would watch out while staying too close to your f2p games, the capitalism might accidentally kick your a$$ while beating down it's socialist counterparts

    Pay to play is my personal preference, hate the pay to win cash grab MMO's have devolved into.

    I think it's great that this is pay to play game, if it was for free or just buy a game and play it, it would have to relay on p2w

    The Pay to play model was a big part of why I even liked this game in the first place. it keeps Young children, trolls, and bots away, it nurtures a community that cares. And most of the successful MMOS out there are P2P

    Ya you are so right, the reason WoW was never that big is because they weren't f2p. WoW was just tons of potential missed. I heard they never got more then some garbage 7 figure number of subs at any one point.

    I'm actually stumped on how to answer this, it's just too dumb to look at so let's try to simplify things.

    Game need money to run. No money no game. No subscription means box cost. No box cost means eventual p2w. P2W means death of game.

    I did say I will simplify it, yoda speech causes the brain to use up a bit more juice to process a sentence.

    Not sure whether to take this seriously or not... Pay to play and no pay to win was one of the things that brought me to this game. I've payed monthly subs for other games, and for the amount of content and hours you're getting, $15 a month is nothing.

    WoW has subscription system for decade and lot of people is still playing the game. It is the best move they can do and keep the game alive.

    Personaly I've played a fair few mmorpg's now and every one that opted for the f2p schem became p2w and declined afterward.

    F2p leads to p2w which = Game death

    All F2P really does is force the requirement of a cash shop (which eventually leads to P2W) and open access to the widest spectrum of player types (which eventually leads to the highest levels of toxic play and players).

    It's F2P. No one really has anything to lose because of their behavior.

    Yeah probably I mean it looks pretty generic though maybe if its good I'll throw 15$ at it until something better like Pantheon comes out.
