Are you going to wait for release?

Just wondering if anyone here was going to wait till the game was fully released before playing, no Alpha or Beta play?

I find myself thinking more and more about this before each game release over the years. I keep telling myself, 'I should have waited', but I always get too excited and get into a beta at one point or another. The internal struggle of.. I want to help, I have a technical mind, experience in betas and have worked as a 3d artist in the past.. while my other half doesn't want to ruin the experience of stepping into a completed world at launch...

So, again, anyone else thinking about holding off till launch?

On as often as I can be. Can't wait to have actual classes though.

When Ashes proves successful I'd like to think I played a very small part in that success.

Yes it was a special time and it will return.

Yet we are not so much here to play rather test and break things, make MMO's great again by each playing our small part.

I'm not a fan of the Battle Royale style game that is currently being used for the alpha testing phase, but I have jumped into a few games to test the available systems.  I'm really looking forward to the castle sieges and horde mode testing phases.

No, i think developer/publisher must prove they worth my time in first place. But i found it funny how so many ppl just jumping into it. WOW. This will be our savior. Take my money! 100 dolars? Take it! 1 000 dolars? Take IT! 10 000 dolars? TAKE IT!

I plan on playing Beta once it's at hand, I am being overcome with not-so-bright thoughts about the EU publisher. Therefore not investing/supporting the team much as of now, although I see AoC as my next big MMORPG project which I already deeply admire and love. Gotta see how it enfolds for my region ...

To be fair, it's not like the people who invested 3 million dollars into the game invested in something without any significant backing or credibility. The owner/founder of Intrepid Studios invested 30 million of his own money into making everything happen.

And the studio may be new, but the developers are all veterans with extensive knowledge and merits selected from throughout the field.

I am still deciding. I am not sure, I think after the test where they allow everyone in, if I have a ton of fun, I will buy the alpha pack. For both my wife and I.

I think I'm at the same point, a holding pattern of sorts. Not to mention my desktop  is like ~6 years old... outside my video card which is a GF760.. I'm sure it will be 'okay' but I'll know more after we are all allowed into the BG test. If my computer were more up to date I'd pick up a pack no problem.. But the money would be better spent updating the system if given the black/white choice.

I loved getting an early look at things and will continue to do so. Despite the frustration of a non final or polished product my nosiness can't help itself.

I'd definitely like to play in the Alpha/Beta if possible, I want to help and give feedback to make this MMO launch as flawlessly as possible. But if I don't,i guess I'll just have to hope the testers playing it now are doing their jobs and wait till official release.

i am currently signed up for the beta, my plan was initially to pay for alpha 2 but then my.com happened and since im in eu i wont support that choice with more money
