Tell your story. I for example saw a video on YouTube :D

Comments

  • Was doing a search for new mmos through Google. Followed various links on Youtube for other stuff. Eventually Ashes popped up, did some research, found out the Kickstarter was kicking off soon. Waited, dithered, then backed.
  • Was pushed and pulled to the kickstarter page by my old gaming partner who was in search for a decent game to play.  Ashes drew me like a magnet as I  hunted for information.  Steven's dreams were not so different from ours.
  • I was on Kickstarter looking at recent updates on Kingdom Death since I had made a pledge for all their content. While I was on KS, I browsed for games and sorted by $$invested. I believe AoC was either #1 or #2 at the time for all live projects. I spent the next hour doing my research, then made my BoW pledge without hesitation.
  • I'm always on Kickstarter looking for new things, and one-day ashes of creation showed up in trending. I had a look at it and watched the video and fell in love. after that I did some research and backed the game
  • I believe I pulled up one of those 'upcoming mmo' lists in the early '17, or was that late '16?? One of the two, and it was listed and has been on my radar since.
  • I read an article about a new MMORPG in Kickstarter and I find it interesting. But I am not a testing type so I will play only when Beta 2 arrives.
  • I was listening to music on youtube and the autoqueue(crew you in general autoqueue) thought it is relevant to me to listen to Fevir which I have never heard off at that point.
Well I was busy playing so I let it run and he mentioned Ashes of Creation. I got curious and now I have been here since February last year.

ditto, the first link that I got for Ashes was a deathsproxy video on youtube
  • One night I decided to randomly browse kickstarter. Came across Ashes browsing though gaming projects. After reading everything on the kickstarter page and watching all the live-streams throughout the kickstarter. By the end I was hooked and hyped, so, I decided to become a backer.
  • I found Ashes through a random internet article talking about the top 10-15 upcoming mmos! Since then I’ve never looked back 😆
  • I was playing wow on a private server where on that pserver there was no classes, so i could pick my own talents skills/spells etc... Was leveling up my character on straglethorn vale until I saw on the guild chat some1 talking abt Ashes, that it was an amazing MMO in development, so ppl there trashed the game after lol, but it made me curious, I went to Ashes website and started to watch the blog videos, I found that amazing.

I myself I want to be a g developer since I was a kid and for some time I was planing to develop a game like Ashes, very diferent yet interesting, it made me hooked, sadly the time I came here, was after kickstarter though, but i always had my eyes on the project and followed the project as time went by.
  • Watched a LazyPeon video around the start of the kickstarter.  Instantly hooked.

I, too, was looking up lists of upcoming MMOs and specifically ones that had a subscription and found Ashes listed; so I started doing my research.  I found the Blog videos on the official website, and Deathsproxy's video and that decided me.  Joined Discord, which I never would have done otherwise, and the forums.  When Kickstarter came out, I backed.  I've been excited ever since.
  • Some guild mates put a link to the official ashes site into our discord back in early march 2017. So did my research, garnering all the information I could from various youtubers and was hooked. Stevens vision for this MMO just gets me hyped up, hope it is delivered on.

Backed the KS but have upped my pledge twice, needed to save some coin to get to the pledge level I wanted :) Am more hyped now than when this all started and it will just continue to climb.

I'd retired from MMO and online gaming because of trends in, and general dissatisfaction of, the gaming industry.., so was completely out of the loop. But I ran into an old buddy who convinced me to download and play one of the f2p games that he was currently playing and it was everything I remembered hating. So I did a quick search on youtube for anything upcoming in the next couple years and found an It's Ziz video on Ashes of Creation. Proceeded to watch all his vids, the Krojak's, and then Death's Proxy's and then came here, and met you beautiful people, and bought my A2 pack. Sad I missed out on the earlier promotions, but that's what I get for putting my head in the sand and ignoring the gaming industry for a couple years.
  • I saw a you tube video in December 2016 about a brand new mmo in development, ever since then id been following it since it promised to make mmos great again. I felt like nobody stepped up on the gamers side. Just profits and deadlines. or games stalling completely
  • A very good gamer friend of mine recommended AoC for me, like in February 2017 - I was instantly hooked ^^
  • I also saw a video on Youtube.
  • Someone on BDO forums mentioned the game.

The only good thing to come out of BDO.
  • Got a huge nostalgia hit for the game that changed my view on mmos  Archeage. Went back to find the game has become an even bigger money grab paytowin than before,  and had totally died out. Went into a bit of depressed state of mind and decided to search on google for games similar to Archeage. There i found a reddit post full with people just like me, and a guy who mentioned an archeage player had enough of this bs and created the company behind AoC. And from there on i read and read about it untill i got my hopes up in the sky.

  • Squirrel Bones and Tea Leaves...
  • I last played an MMORPG a decade ago and lost all interest in them. But I was watching Overlord and thought, "I wonder if there's any real good MMORPG's out there". I was actually following the creation of EverQuest Next but that fell apart a few years ago and I lost interest again, but Overlord got me looking so I just googled if there was anything releasing in 2018 or 2019. Nothing of interest was coming out this year but 2019 there was a big game in development that touched on all my interest so far. Thus bringing me to Ashes of Creation.

So in short....Overlord brought me here!
  • A friend of mine I'd played various MMOs with messaged me on Steam that his guild leader was stepping aside because he was making his own MMO. He didn't have any details other than a link to this website.

I kind of filed that away in my brain but a few hours later on Reddit someone was talking a new MMO being made and I messaged them to see if it was the same one my friend just told me about. It was. Figured it was fate. So I came here and signed up.
