Religion + Cooking = Sunday Bake Sale?

I've been thinking about quests lately. How will we get religious quests? In the tavern??
Isn't the tavern the opposite of religion? That's where you go to drink and gamble and sin and stuff. Do we go to church to get religious quests? That would make more sense.

Can we hang out at church? How? Like, at the bake sale?
"Whaaat?" Said my brain. "Will there be bake sales in Ashes?? Friday fish frys? Bingo? "

The other side of my brain replied, "Well, there's cooking, and religion, and parlor games, so.. religion + cooking = cupcakes!! Bake sale!"

What do you think?

  • There are temples that can be placed by the mayor of the node.

You *may* also be able to build shrines on your freehold.

These will probably be our access point to our deities.

    More information here: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Temples

  • Having a bake sale could be a religious quest.
  • The question is, are they immune to taxes....
  • You have to pay a donation to the church to get access xD
  • dumbest post in my life
  • Until I make a fortune selling cross-aunts in front of the church and then you copy me. :)
That's a high traffic area baby.  Perfect for a pop up vendor stall. Or pop over vendor stall.  ;)

All religions are proven false and are a cancer.
I haven't heard much about the gods in AOC, but I hope the entire world is atheism, would be great.
  • Completely wrong. Without religion there's no civilization. Religion caused people to become sustainable societies. Without it people would have become villages of clans, then cities, then civil war would have broken up the cities. Eventually, people would realize there's no point in forming cities if they were going to erupt in civil war anyway. To this day the world would be a bunch of clans fighting and killing each other. Also, the world would not be where it is today technologically. It took large amounts of people sharing knowledge with each other to get us where we are today.  Religion was the great unifier that allowed peace to reign until governments and laws could form. This led to co-operation between minds and people of varied backgrounds and the future we have today. Religion's great power was bringing peace to the world. Eventho  some religions still disagree with each other and fight, those religions are dying out and the world continues to become more peaceful.  Religion has been incredibly important to the evolution of human civilization.

And that's all I have to say  about that. :)

Shit do I have enough time for this....
Firstly, most civil wars, like the American civil war, Greek civil war, were caused by religion.
"Religion created civilization" Is debatable, science does not know yet so don't state it as fact.
The Idea that if a society was filled with atheists and without gods we would always lead to civil war, is utterly ****, I have no idea why you would think that, to be honest I'm sure you don't either.
Not only is your statement about religion sharing technology and nurtured the advancement of science wrong, the truth is literally the opposite of that statement.
Many scientists who's studies and findings proved the church wrong were tried for heresy.
Religion did not bring peace to the world.
They ****, murdered and bullied every man, women and child who didn't obey their laws.
If that's how you'd obtain peace then you're a fool.
Religion caused slavery, endorsed slavery, child **** and every other thing we find deplorable now.
"None of that in my bible" you will say.
Because they're liars, in 1611 King James had new copies of the bible made to make it more user friendly.
All gods have been disproven, by science and common sense.
I could talk at lengths about this, ignorance is no excuse now you have google.
Gods can and probably will exist in game, as there are in all MMOs for some reason.
But I hope they never have Sunday bake sales, or do anything that is remotely to the liking of endorsing religious beliefs, as billions of us are atheist and hate dumb shit like that.

There are not billions of atheists in the world. Almost all studies put it at far less then 1 billion. Yet it is estimated that 1/3 of the worlds population are Christians (only one of the many religions). So it would seem your recommendations are wrong.

500 million to 1 billion based on surveys so it will likely be much higher as many wont take part in those.
You comment doesn't really have a point.

I was only trying  to put the numbers in perspective I know I have no ability to change your thought process on your own beliefs and was not even attempting to do so. My only point was that there seems to be more people who believe in some sort of religion compared to atheism.

I must be wrong but I was under the impression that you would need 2 billion or more to use the term billions. If I am mistaken on this I apologize.

you do know that's breaking the T&C of ashes right? and no we have no new lore about the gods in ashes
  • If you want to start an argument about real life stuff especially religion, politics etc. just take it somewhere private, the forums are for discussions but for game related discussions.

Cool I'm fine then, my original comment was just stating that in game the world might be all atheist.
Then Sunfrog said without religion we'd all be little tribes constantly killing each other, he also said religion brings peace.
