You could have mercenaries or personal npcs you can higher and pay, or marry as a personal companion.. but outright calling npcs 'slaves' is a little controversial since it.. well.. you know..  and the idea of enslaving actual other PCs.. yeah.. no... but RP whatever you wish as long as it is consensual RP..

You need an option more like "no, I would never want to force other players to do things against their will, and do not find this idea interesting".

That said, having NPC servants that we could get to do things we needed around the world, or paying other players to perform tasks for us would be something I could get behind. Straight up forcing a player to do things for you though? No. Never. Heck, I could even support NPC slavery, just never other players. 

Edit: I'm also fine with other players RPing as slaves, since that's then their choice. I'm just not for actual paying customers being forced to do things against their will.

as a black man i would say yes. in the game i doubt it would have racial implications and it would be kinda cool to explore as a system.

I'm a white man does that count ? Well the game is fantasy so if there was slavery it would be sooner amongst the different races rather than over things like skin :<

Only fools enslave others and only the weak allow themselves to be enslaved.

I'm with these opinions - I never will join a game where enslaving of characters is possible!

I am pretty sure it can be part of the lore SOMEHOW but I am personally not a fan of slavery overall. However if it will be a normal economy idea of a certain region on the game then I think it would bring excitement to it. However if it were to be there, it must have certain conditions upon which players can be enslaved and held captives and such.

This has been done in various forms in 2 games.  Conan Exiles allows npc slaves called thralls.  More or less you beat them up with a cudgel then drag them back to your base and break them on your wheel of pain.  There are slaves that can be used for crafting and other npc slaves that can be used as guards and fighters.

Reign of kings allows players to be captured.  Once captured they can be detained in cages or executed with a guillotine.  You can escape capture by hiding a rock in your orifice and using it to kill yourself or escape.  I've never been taken prisoner in reign of kings.

I know the original idea was about players as slaves but I don't see how that in and of itself can be possible.  You can't make a pc work for you.  Irl the threat of death caused slave owners to be able to force their slaves to work.  If you kill a player they just respawn so the threat of bodily harm isn't an incentive to do what the "master" wants them to do.

I would support the inclusion of the methods in conan exiles for npc's and the method of reign of kings for players in Ashes of Creation.

I am familiar with juschmaster.  They are not “just” a troll, though they have very strong opinions against “carebears”.  But I agree this poll is definitely trollish behavior.

juschmaster is showing himself as the very kind of player which validates the need for the corruption system. In essence he is a true griefer.
