If there was a "Labor Point" system..

Due to the overwhelming hate of the community for this inquisitive topic I ask that if a moderator see this post please delete it. The end result is labor point systems suck and we all agree. The End.

  • Not even going to vote, the idea of a labour system alone leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

    1)  This poll sucks.  It should have had an option to outright say "I wouldn't play the game if there was a labor system

    2)  This is a bad idea fairy which needs to get squashed by a phone-book from the word go.  
  • There are going to be in game methods to prevent people from gathering non stop, easily. No need for a labor system, but hey, never know. 
    Resources will spawn based on node level and they will not always spawn in the same spot from what I understand. Since the game is also PvX I am sure that more rare materials or ones in greater need are going to be contested.

  • I think it would be easier to have each action take time to complete rather than introducing a labor point system. Having said that i voted for player made potions because it would give a viable mercantile outlet to a subset of players.

    So a labor point system works this way. You plant something and it costs labor points (or pick something up possibly). p2w mmo's like archeage allow the purchasing of these potions that give you more labor points so you can make more of something or plant more of something. This is a general description of course but I dont like it. Felt limiting in archeage.

  • I never played a game with labor system, I don't get what purpose it serves. Could someone explain (I get it gets cash grab-y but other than that)?

    Basically they act as a way to limit your activity. You get so many points a day to do things like crafting or harvesting, and when those points run out you have to then wait for them to recharge somehow before continuing those activities. It's really awful and unfun.
  • I honestly hope we don't have labor points. They tend to be in a lot of F2P pay-to-win games so it really has no place in ashes of creation. Developers use labor points to extract more money from players and since we are paying a sub for this game. This should never be included in the first place.

    We already lack fast travel and have weight limits, do we really need to slow down things more? We don't even know how much we can carry and we do lose a % of raw resources upon death. I feel like we don't need to limit activity more :P
  • This is why I hate posts like these. People only read what pops up right in front of them. There is no labor system planned. Stop the hue hue hue. Stop the I hope they don't do this or that. They have stated that it isn't going to happen. Either take them at their word (which they have been very good about keeping) or find something else to occupy your attention. New people coming to these forums see stupid shit like this, think there is going to be a labor system, or the developers are trying something dodgy, and then don't bother to find out the real information. And worse, then go on to tell their friends "Oh, that game? Nah, I saw that they are going to have a labor system. I'm outtie!"

    Honestly some of these threads are put up as nothing more than trolls. There is quite a lot of information out there in some quite easy to find places, but the threads keep coming with the troll worthy headlines.

    There should be a post pinned at the top of this general topic forum directing people to relevant sources. READ ME FIRST. Though most would ignore it.

    It limits player activity and regulates the economy, cant have one guy chop tree's for 30 hours and flood the auction house with it. Guess it limits gold farmers too. Didnt think about that

    Yes my sentiments exactly, I love chatting about different aspects of things people enjoy or would rather see. However some do not, and I really don't like to cause a big fuss so I would rather the post be taken down if it is that controversial.
  • This is not a fake free to play mmo and doesn't intend to emulate the worst aspect of asian market mmos.
