Cosmetic rules and restrictions

I couldn't find anything on this topic.
Will there be any restrictions or rules to cosmetics?

I'm thinking about something like "It's not possible to apply a robelike cosmetic/skin to a plate armor."
It would be really hard in PvP to identify/assess your opponent if he has a cosmetic to disguise his Armor.

The same for Mounts:
Lets say i get (or breed) the fastes mount possible. And now i'm applying a tortoise or even snail cosmetic to it....

Is there already a definite answer to this topic out there? If not: what do you think about it?

There will be cosmetic slots on your paperdoll that can be filled, it will cover what you are wearing.  So, yes, doing PvP you will have to be careful.
  • Honestly the thing about disguising armor is not that much of a problem since skills are limited by class so you will find out what class the enemy is and it adds a bit of excitement to the battle .w.
  • Yeah its not like AA where you have to transmog plate to plate, cloth to cloth, etc.

You dress up a paperdoll with what you want.

  • TAKE YOUR RESTRICTIONS AND SHOVE IT!!!

    How's that for a response? :)
  • The restrictions are that all cosmetics are account bound and there is no gifting or transfer. There are individual piece appearances and whole costume cosmetics. I plan to spend my time wearing my merchant skin and laughing at people who attack to only hear their arrow bounce off the plate I am wearing underneath the glamour.

    I Agree in 1vs1.
But there are Sieges. 200+ vs 200+.
Now lets assume one big guild managed to organize that everyone is wearing the same racial cosmetic, armor cosmetic, and mount cosmetic.
Now you have like 100 angels in light robes charging your city on a tortoise.
Probably fun to watch but i doubt this will be fun to play against.

I mean the classes are meant to be a rock, paper, scissor system.
In this siege you could be 100 scissors vs 100 rocks. But you wouldn't know because everyone is wearing costumes.
And good luck finding out what of the 64 classes everyone in this 100 man assault is.
  • Yep, just like life. No way to know who is the active shooter.

If you do this, then you aren't a PvP player, but a RP player, so this have zero impact on PvP anyway...

I disagree. I think a smart PvP player would indeed hide their true armor to make it more difficult to play against.

Well there is no restriction to use cosmetics in PvP so i don't understand your point. As @UnknownSystemError stated:

I will probably do the same if there are really no rules to cosmetics. If I have the chance to confuse my opponent with cosmetics why wouldn't i use it in PvP?

This is what makes it interesting...and you know what? you, too, can do the same thing. :D
