Crafters and their system

  Hello everyone! What is your stance on crafters? Would you like to see an actual rotation/system for crafting and 2 versions of the crafted items? Normal and master craft? Perhaps a little rng involved.
  Making it so regular items are easy or normal difficulty to craft while making it possible to fail easily during the progress of hard  to craft master craft/better version. Making it so skilled crafters could make the same item but with betters stats. This way we could make crafting more  interesting. Mostly to set bigger difference between skilled, high lvl crafter vs low lvl, less skilled crafter and vice versa.
 Or that all is just a overkill and all we need is a simple craft to acquire lvl/skill ? Involving gather and craft × times set item to unlock higher lvl recipes?
