    The badges defiantly are not intimidating and the official forms across the board are not either. The residents are friendly and welcoming on the whole. Not sure what the OP is basing this perception on. The Ashes Reddit was not exactly positive, but i am sure we have all seen worse.

    Give rewards for earning badges on forums :), also just give some kind of small ingame reward for joining the forums etc

    Get a magical flying book as pet
    and suddenly the forums are alive, filled with people spamming to get that pet.

    Also, this would attract people long enough to get the skin and would, i think, retain more trolls than serious players. I feel like this would be, in the end, less beneficial to the community. There is no way I consider people getting a free pet skin equaling sales either.
