They revealed three different subtypes of hippogryphs and said that animal trainers will be able to focus on specific attributes in their breeding-lines :D

    I think it might be the size of the head, just make them look very... young xD

    Nice to get a small taste of Animal Husbandry though, can't wait for the article about the actual profession!

    They are adorable. I hope they aren't just for Mayors, Kings and Queens as flying mounts and that regular players can use them as gliders.

    Its easy to decide: Do you like hooves and big heads? Then the Hippogryph is for you. Do you like talons and lions? Then the Gryphon is for you. :D

    How would they work as mounts if there's no flying? Gliding as people have said or are they land-locked?

    There is restricted flying, only mayors and monarchs and the very rare and limited time drops from bosses. Other than that it's just gliding or land travel.

    I figure these would function as gliding mounts, or similar to a dragon's egg. Where you can use it for a limited amount of time and it would be a rare drop.

    Or maybe they will function like they do in some D&D games and they are simply used for low level flying monsters to antagonize the group... (not likely if capable of animal husbandry though).
