F10 Not toggling the user interface as it is supposed to.

While in the game over many random locations, the F10 key did not toggle the user interface. While roaming around, my UI would suddenly vanish, and F10 would not bring it back. I had to press I for inventory which would bring up my UI plus inventory, but when I pressed I again, it would all vanish.
