how do you pick up items to use

I am having trouble picking up weapons and armor in the game. I know i must be missing something simple , but i would appreciate the help.

    Go up to the item and press E after you see the name of the item popup. If for some reason you can't pick it up reset keybindings to default then try again. There is also issues with assets disappearing so sometimes you won't be able to get to items.

    Hiya! As trokair mentioned, E is the default button to interact with things, including picking up items! You'll need to be sure to equip your armor once you pick it up though, by holding LMB while you have it selected in the hotbar.
