Daily Rewards or login reward.
Play a couple matches with increased xp.
Or monthly check in board with free embers etc. Gets people popping in, playing a game or two.

    The level rewards are the daily rewards but if you've already lvl 50'd you've already got them.
    I like the double xp weekend idea. It helps people coming in for the first time.
    Maybe random embers in treasure chests. Not too many, just like 5.
    Also, filter matchmaking by number of kills. All the Steam newbies were slaughtered by the experienced players.

    Yes, something to bring people in on a regular.
    Even a weekly login thing, where you get a bonus chest of stuff (small amount of embers, or tokens that go towards unlocking specific cosmetics) to open in the beginning lobby if you login for 5/7 days in the week
