Cooking as a profession

A bit about the food possibly someone has some different spices to thier cooking that give different buffs. For example player A uses spice YX gives health per second and spell power bonus where as player B uses spice YZ and gives health per second and chance on hit for fire damage different recipes offering different "spice slots" and overall number value say something with 3 "spice slots" gives a value of 6 so the crafter could do slot 1 = 6% or Slot 1 + slot 2 + slot 3 = 6% giving a reason for people to prefer other players recipes having an unlock system based on the players preferences for what they use to determine thier progression what they can unlock and bake or cook. Might have twisted the original idea a bit for this here but would work for a variety of preferences and give craters more than the basics we see in so many games.

Comments

  • Can't wait to see what cooking will allow us to do.
  • Hmm.  Or even having seasons cause scarcity of certain crops/cooking ingredients?  Certain animals hibernate, etc.  Makes it like the McRib coming back every season people will lose their minds.
  • Several cooking techniques could be implemented, then how these techniques affect different ingredients could result in a large variety of resulting food benefits.
  • It would be awesome if you could get seasonal recipes and then after mastering the bake you could set your own stall up in the metropolis from December 20th to 25th selling Santa muffins!

  • Archage had a good cooking tree and id be happy if something similar was implemented.

I made pretty good coin making the top level feasts for guild and auction house.

Well, from the looks of it, that means you'd expect 2 inputs: barriers (e.g. table type) and cost (e.g. labor, materials). Spices would definitely fall under materials, of course. I wonder if they'll lean more on equipment to provide barriers, for example, having a certain kind of pot to make a rare soup.

Same, surely more than just plain stat increases. Also interested to see if elixirs will play a big role.
