I am a Ren'Kai orc, Fighter | Fighter | Weaponmaster. My armor shall be the Black Scale Imperator. My second choice is Dunir, which looks really cool as well.

    I still think that the full obsidian armor looks the best xD

    Ren'kai = Japanese inspired armours
    Dunir= Typical high fantasy dwarf (gimlie from LOTR)

    I would say aesthetically Ren'kai would be more appealing for armour but imagine wearing that same armour as a dwarf. It would look badass.
  • @Makinoji True. Imagine putting that armor on a troll with power - wouldn't that be a sight?

    As much as I'm hoping for samurai-like armour, what we've seen for the Ren'kai so far seems to be more in a 'western barbarian' motif than Japanese..or is it just me..

    If you're referring to that one cosmetic pack, that could also be part of the race as a whole. Since most orcs were nomadic and only recently united before the fall. Once they are united their armours could become significantly uniformed. This is just a guess.

    Maybe..the boat and shield in that cosmetic pack were described as Ren'kai, so I probably lean toward the armour being Ren'kai too...but yeah it is just 1 example so I probably jumped the gun on looking at it as a representative sample.

    The other thing is the degree of influence could just be subtle, which would allow armour to have its own distinct look as well as mirror the parent race to a degree - on a second look I wonder if the shoulder plate layering takes after the old shoulder leather layering in Japanese armour...yes..this is the level of speculation we have arrived at :D
