Question about the paid beta.

Hello! I just found out about this game today, and I am really intrigued! I was considering the pre-order/beta but I am hesitant to pay for a beta... some previous experiences left a bad taste in my mouth.

So I am wondering when do the alpha/beta phases occur?

In the Pre-Order descriptions it list out months of game time, for instance the "Voyager Plus Pre-Order Pack - $375" says "9 months of game time ($135 value)".
Does that game time happen during the alpha/beta phases, or is that game time you a pre-purchasing for when the game goes live?

    The game time is only for launch not testing.

    If you are worried about backing, then don't back. Wait until you see what you are comfortable with.
