Vassal Nodes - Free real estate or trap?

I really like the NODE system and think it's going to give us alot of fun times in the future, but 'im curious.
Am i right in these presumptions?
Benefits
Consequences
Now, i'm talking 1-3 months after release, why would you not abandon whatever node you chose at start and move to the biggest one? I'd say 90 of the player base would operate in the Metro and City stages, and that might leave the rest of the world a bit empty if there is too few opportunities.
Love everything i've seen about this game, good work!

Vassal Node Citizenship
- Less competition for non-instanced housing.
- Bigger selection of aesthetics, such as racial-style or placement.
- Opportunity, if the main node gets destroyed. (City only)
Consequences
- Higher frequency of attacks. (Shorter grace period)
- Presumably, less defence. (Fewer people care about a Village than a City)
- Fewer special buildings.
- Further travel for trade.
- Less PK/PVP security, with bounty hunters making headquarters in Towns and above only. (Village only)

When you consider that you can only get housing at level 3, and city nodes are level 5, this only leaves level 3 and 4 nodes.
There will likely be some players that set up in these nodes for various reasons (setting up a shop in a well traveled area, players that are always on the move to be near resource spawns etc), but most players will want to live in a larger node where possible.
That is kind of the point of a metropolis though.
Yeah, pretty much. Another advantage is also people wont really want to siege you down, as you can't really expand.
