Shared Storage with Marriage

I have always found the idea of an impactful marriage system unique, however MMOs fall short in implementation leaving mainly cosmetics as the main attraction. I think it would be beautiful if a major game was developed to have such a system, where you really have to consider a character not just, "Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Ma'am." I realize there is great potential for abuse with people gaining excessive storage if there is a storage restriction, however the idea of having joint storage with just one other person, I find romantic. Is there any way shared storage for married character to be feasible? Thanks! (And sorry if this is in the wrong area >.<!)

I think you could allow access to your house and share stuff that way but agree totally that many games dont do marriage justice. The only game where i personally experienced good marriage mechanics was perfect world international. For the wedding itselve invitations needed to be send far in advance with much work and money to decorate. And it took multiple hours with possibly 100s of ppl attending. Even had to put a virtual ring around the finger and say a yes word lol. If Ashes will have this; it will sure be another big step in ahead of other games. Me and e-waifu will be looking foreward to that. Can't be cringy and nerdy enough with this shiz o:)

What I would give for my own bathroom...

    Virtue is the only good.

The problem is, people would just marry for the additional shared storage, they would just marry their roommate, or their friend, and you'd be handicapping yourself by not marrying someone. Marriage should always be an optional choice you make, and shouldn't give advantages like that.
  • I guess if you trust your roommate not to use your resources for stuff you don't want to do. I think a vast majority of gamers wouldn't like someone else being able to take stuff out of their inventory. If anything they would make an alt and marry the alt, so there would have to be something in the system to stop that from happening. Any who, just an idea xD

And this dampens the meaning of marriage, marriage should be expensive and exclusive to make it a special thing for those who want to do it in game. I won't be so eager to marry my brother if it costs 5k gold.

Please don't put special perks in game for marriage. That just causes many issues. Or, if you put systems in place like this, there needs to be systems in place for break ups. Say, you lose 10% of both accounts money, random house items become damaged, become KoS to each other, and it causes a reputation hit to all the NPCs in the zone.
