Really makes me wonder what lines IS is willing to draw around violence. Like if the Tulnar gets beheaded, is it still fine as long as there is no blood?
This would be a great topic to start. How visceral will the lore be? How graphic? Just look at ff14, they talk about ... well i cant say lol. They have more realistic interactions between good and bad people is probably the most pc way to put it. In contrast you have a game like Wow that hardly ever engages with the personal stories of your every day peon or citizen, and if it does they never talk about anything outside of murders or kidnapping.
I prefer grit and blood over the light hearted direction
Kind of self explanatory given your large volume of memes involving violence, murder and death.
I like it, the exaggerated shock factor has a "backlash" effect.
Euphemisms create taboo.
Exaggerations create tolerance.
I mean... in a game that literally pits players against each other to kill one another and has a violent plot... makes sense to me.
Kind of why I mused on what IS thinks. There are different degrees of violence and focus on violence in a setting like this.
For example, the meme in question if in the game strikes me as on the edge of being Pegi 18. Depending on context, frequency of this high level of brutality and amount of gore it could land Ashes outside of Pegi 16. For americans its the difference between a community that claims it is a game for an audience rated T vs M.
It's not my job to judge whether or not it is acceptable, even if I have an opinion. But if they want a Pegi 12 or 16 rating in Europe or a T rating in the states, they are going to have to draw lines within the game. And if they don't draw those same lines around the forums, well. It could be a bad look for those parents who rely on such ratings to correspond with their community.
Which brings me back to a question only a mod could answer. What about the above meme would have to change to warrant a takedown if that did not. Is it about the gore? Can I bloodlessly decapitate the Tulnar? If not, what makes it different than implied shooting, immolation, and onesided brutal beat down? If so, can I dismember the Tulnar in my memes?
To be fair with that particular meme, it is only implied. You don't see any deaths.
I do agree they should figure out what they want this game to be rated as, but I would say so far this is geared for 16+. But I wouldnt be surprised if it went to 18+. And As long as I am not violating any ToS with my memes I dont see a problem, I have taken some down before by mods requests.
Here ill get you guys back on track:
This is my personal feedback, shared to help the game thrive in its niche.
Yes please.
dammit you beat me to it
Too slow!

But here it is. A meme.
Yesssss, memes for the meme throne!
Still too big, give me a sec
It looks like there's a limit to gif length, testing theory...
something is wrong with my image hosting. will look into it more tomorrow.
For your reference, this tool ----> https://ezgif.com/ is amazing for all things gif.
I have the image saved on my hard drive. I also entered the url in the image tool, but the website for Ashes didn't take it. I also tried following the article on the support. I just wanted to look cool like @Dolyem
Yeah, you can't upload the image directly to the Ashes boards. It has to be hosted somewhere then you can grab the image address from the hosted address and copy that link into the post. Make sense?
If you make your own discord server you can link it there and then use the discord itself as a host address. Its what I do with many of my screenshots.
