Type of monster

To make this quick, do you guys prefere a large amount of easy to kill monster like in BDO or a small amount of more challenging monster like WOW and what do you think will be in the game?

  • I never cared much for the Dynasty warrior system of kicking hordes of weaklings around until they finally stop getting up. I'd much rather have distinct, memorable encounters with stuff that can actually fight back.

Sometimes, small hordes of weaklings may be part of that, but it should be treated like a special move of the actual opponent, not an encounter by itself.
  • just normal mobs like a normal MMO?

Pull one, click, click, click, 0 skill-based, all stat checking, and when hes dead pull another one.

Well the clustered type of mobs/PvE only works for Aoe/ hacknslash combat with strong emphasize on hitfeedback on the mobs. It’s dull and cant facilitate depth like WoW raids have.
What id like to see in the open world are that mobs are kinda rare but really hard to fight. When mobs are in groups like a goblin camp it should be so challenging that only groups of players can kill them.

Whats your opinion on the topic ?

I want a wide variety of nasties to fight. Not necessarily easy to kill mobs, but the dark gods did come and taint the world so I hope we have a plethora of baddies to engage in and fight.
I would much rather have a meaningful fight than trash mobs.

    Quality over Quantity.
  • I prefer variance.

The dead do not squabble as this land’s rulers do. The dead have no desires, petty jealousies or ambitions. A world of the dead is a world at peace

    WoW had more challenging monsters?

I want to see wandering monsters that will whoop your butt. I have no problem with easier mobs that allow players to easily collect quest items, and that respawn fast. I would like to see rare named spawns that wander among these. Spawns that might take a concerted effort from the questers in the area to kill, and that will give some sort of reward to anyone who participated in killing them.

These don't need to be at the level of world mobs though, just require the efforts of a group number. It could be just another thing that brings people together socially. The "we were questing and worked together to kill the massive alpha bull" or something.

I like there to be a mix. Have high density, easier mobs for grinding xp and more difficult singular mobs for grinding materials/items. Overall I really liked the mobs in Blade & Soul the most. They were actual people and had some fight and movesets to them so you didn't just walk over them. Although not an MMO, DS3 was similar. The knight mobs were fun to fight since they were realistic in fighting style.
