The Sounds of Verra

So far the game looks pretty great, minus some work needing to be done here and there that we can all see but something I haven't heard much about is the sound. After watching the recent gameplay footage, many of the sounds currently sound very similar to sounds I've heard in other games. Whether they're just basic placeholders or not, I'm very interested to know what kind of sound work would be happening as the game progresses. I am also interested to hear what others think about the sounds/music of the game currently.

I think the truth of the matter is that sounds will probably be one of the latest things that is worked on.
Dont expect to hear the full game sounds till beta.
As for other sounds - I expect them to be very similar to other games. I mean, a sword hitting a shield should sound largely similar in all games, as should footsteps.
To reply to @nidriks - As to what I may expect is sounds of their own. I don't want to hear something and think "I've heard that before." because right now, a quick example of something that really made me think that is the whipping ability sounding similar to certain sounds made by the Bloodstalker in ARK. I know it's an odd example but that's what sounds like to me.
I wonder, do dev teams have a database of sounds they can dip into? Is that a thing in game development?
That's an interesting question. I put my question in about more information on the music/sound of the game for the upcoming Dev Update. Hopefully, we can hear more haha.
