How will the combat feel?

I know with a game like this, combat and animations will play a big factor. Now will the combat feel like you are just spamming spells? or will it be action combat where you really have to be engaged and 1 mistake of a move can be punished.

Comments

  • Combat will hurt.
  • We don't know for sure yet. Wait for alpha 1. Combat will be heavily tested and changed in Alpha 1 & 2.

If it’s leaning to far towards action combat it will never be a huge success with millions of players .... more important than that is fluidity and feeling that all your inputs are like butter ... there is a reason WoW has been number one for so long ... it’s dogshit in so many things ... but it’s combat and movement are fluid and smooth and no other mmo has ever come close yet ...

Smooth fluid combat trumps all including action combat

It has been said since Kickstarter days to be a mix of action and tab target combat.

As far as I am aware we are yet to see the tab target side of things in too much detail. We really won't know the full feel of the combat until beta, I expect.

As people have said, no way to know at the moment but it's also the big question in everyones mind because every other aspect of the game so far seems amazing  and we know the that the team are taking this aspect seriously as they have mentioned it on several times that they know how important it is and it's one of the reasons they launched apocalypse. Fingers crossed

Srsly, stop thinking tab target is the key why WoW is big and its combat feels good, and also, there's hella people who doesn't play WoW cuz of its combat.

PS: its combat feels good because its quickly responsive, not fluid.

New players wont get into tab targeting. They would rather play games such as BDO, Tera, New world. Tab targeting in my opinion are only for the veterans, veterans alone wont keep the game alive.
