Server Questions

What are you allowed to do with servers? are you able to move between servers freely? are you locked in one server and reset when logging into a new server?

Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

You are locked onto your server as each server is its own breathing, living world.

There are no server transfers planned at this time.

You can be sure some friends and guilds will get split at launch due to server caps and queues. Happens on just about every game launch. Then after lots of noise transfers usually happen

At launch you are going to be able to pre-register with your guild so you won't get split.

    From the Wiki
The developers intend to carefully manage server populations to avoid the need to merge servers. There may be queues to get into high population servers, but the aim is to avoid excessively long queues.
We're gonna keep track of the history of the world so that we can tell people the story up to the current day. A player who's brand new, who's come in at the six-month mark can take a look at each server, what each server has done, how each server has tackled the storyline; and they can decide for themselves what community they want to join; what version of the world that they want to take part in. – Jeffrey Bard

Splitting of guilds should not be an issue, making transfers unnecessary, as the guild players just need to agree on which server instance they intend to participate beforehand and then select that particular server. The guilds will need to decide whether they want to get in to a server with a high population, where their guild members may have to wait in a queue, or select a lower population instance where it is more likely that the entire guild can connect without queuing. Whichever they choose they are locked in to their decision once the choice is made.

In the beginning this may not be much of an issue as all players will be new, but later guilds will need to review the history of the instance they are joining before making their decision.

There are already places in the forums and on Discord where Guilds (Clans) are recruiting.
