What GPUs do you guys have/are planning on buying for AoC?

Man the Nvidia reveal stream was so good. I absolutely loved the marbles video.

I'm going to be buying an rtx 3070 laptop next year. What GPUs are you guys planning to use for AoC? (Assuming it comes out in 2022)

I'm due for a new GPU. I'm still using a GTX 750 Ti (yeah, I know) and I'll probably upgrade to the RTX 3070 😄
  • Ah, I wasn't aware today was the day!

/runs off to go look at some specs.......

WELL, since I'm planning on building my new system in 2 months to coincide with the new AMD chipset, I will probably go with the 3080 (but wish I could actually wait for the inevitable 3080 RTX Super :P )

I currently have a 5700XT and probably won't upgrade before release depending on how the game plays at 1440p during alphas and betas as this GPU is good enough for me. If it were to be unsatisfactory I would consider the 3070 or an AMD equivalent but I would wait until 2022 to buy it.

I always get the second best nVidia card every other generation. I had a 570, then a 770 (Gigabyte) and now I have a 1070 (ASUS).

I might get a 3070 next year, but I must say the 3080 looks awesome and I would love to build a small rig with one, because the graphics card's size is usually what keeps me from building an ITX system, and now the PCB is so ridiculously small.

Both the RTX 3070 and the 3080 offer great value imo.

But since I can't afford the 3080, I'm going to go for the 3070.
  • I still got a 1080Ti which should do the job just fine, so I am not planning to buy any new GPU.

  • I might go for the 3080 depending how much they will charge it in my country. Really hope for the currency equivalent of 700 USD.

Atm got an 1080ti, but I will simply wait for AoC to release and then build a new one. By then the 4080ti probably already exists ;D

Same here, I mean I have a 1070Ti but it’s good enough to run anything at max settings with decent performance so it should be fine for AoC.

  • I just built a brand new system and all she needs is one of those nice new 3090..Right now I am using an old AMD 550 LoL..$5,000 worth of computer with a $75 GPU lol..

Damn.....I personally think that the 3080 is the way to go, but hey, if you have the money why not go for the best of the best?
  • Currently on a 1060. I will be picking up the 3070 and building out new rig just for AOC. I figure AOC is still 2 to 3 years out though, so not in a big hurry.

I am retired and its something I allways been wanting to do since I heard about the 30 series..It was a itch I just had to scratch type things..I also got 3 LG 32inch 1440p monitors also..Only using two right now the 550 can only push 2 and its barely doing that..I had bought a ROG 5700xt to get by on till I got a 3090 but it was a no go on 2 DP...I sent it back and since its so close theirs no real point in getting one now..Ohh come on the 24th...Thou I will admit if it were not for the fact that I am in need of a good GPU I would be waiting...From from I have seen I think theirs really going to be a issue with over heating..Plus I think they were going 7nm and at the very last minute were able to do 8nm..All the leaks kept saying 7nm and they were all pretty much dead on except for that..Also if anyone is looking to get a 2080ti everyone is selling their cards at great prices just FYI..

Atm, I've been running a 1080 ti for a while now. I'm planning on getting a 3080 but I want to see actual reviews on the card before I buy it.

  • Maybe the RTX 4080, depending on how long this gen is / how long AoC takes ;P

    But 3080 if not!
  • Bought 2080ti couple of months back...going to skip the 30 series entirely.

Currently have the 1070. I'll most likely get the 4080 in Sept 2022? when it's out. Planning on building a new comp in 2022. Let's hope the price will be same, $699

Currently running the 2080 super, so most likely will get the 4080 super/ti/ect when that drops in a years time + time to get to retail. I will most likely wait for the ASUS STRIX version as I have had INCREDIBLE experiences with those cards. Not a single failure in (8+?) years of using them. Most of my old cards are still being used by the niblings. I most likely will also upgrade from high refresh rate 1440p to 4k at that time too.

I have a RTX 2070 atm. I am waiting to see what AMD puts out before buying anything. I tend to prefer AMD because Nvidia hates linux. Otherwise what ever has the best bang for the buck between 400 and 700$.

Whole system up grade in around 12 months or so when we get closer to AOC launch.

I'll be building a pc soon with the soon to be released amd CPU's and Nvidia GPU's, then I'll wait the 2-3 years till release and reassess then if there's a decent price to performance upgrade available.

No way man. The 5080 is like 4 years away. You think that the game is going to take that long to release?

Currently on 2080TI (FE) but am hoping to snag a 3090FE

    probably
  • Well I want everyone to know I have said it for months now that AMDs main goal was to out perform the 2080ti and if it happens to run toe to toe with the 3070 thats great..Dont get me wrong I wish AMD would, but its just way to great of a leap right now but each release their slowly closing that distance..Oh I am going for the 3090 but also I am worried about two things..1st Cooling they put a lot of thought into that which tells me thats a issue, but I could be wrong..2nd I think their going to come up with some B.S excuse as to why shipments are so low, till they see BIG Navi come out. Once they see that it only beats the 2080ti suddenly their going to have plenty of cards, but their going to come up with some B.S up grade to mark them up 20% from the price of the unveiling..Just my thoughts..But I do think either way I am going to have a hard time getting a 3090 thats for sure..
