Max level/end game content

We were told that reaching the max level will take a considerable amount of time, and I think that is a good thing, but what will there be to do for max level characters that's not available to anyone else? I know that the world is constantly changing and being updated and there is a massive world boss, but those are available to anyone.(and yes I understand that you need to be a certain level and gear quality to do dungeons and mobs in general, and honestly it would be cool if that was the only thing limiting the areas you can go to, I'm talking about stuff like special areas in WOW for ex that you need to do quests to get access to) Will there be any special dungeons, quest lines, events, extra perks (other than stats), something that makes grinding for the highest level and gear worth it? Also how on the subject of quest lines what will the end game content for the story be, if any?

I don't think that anything you are asking for has been announced. I do remember an old video with Steven and Jeff where they talked about how they want the whole game to be worth playing. They don't want the point of the game to be, reach endgame which is played in an entirely different way from the rest of the game. This focus on endgame kind of makes a situation where all the players are just trying to skip the rest of the game.
  • your right the leveling process needs to be just as fun for the game to be enjoyable. After all they did say it would take upwards of a month of continuous gaming so it has to be good. I'm just asking what kind of stuff will there be after that month, because what content you have in the game after max level is what is going to keep you playing for years. They wouldn't even have to add much to be honest, the constant evolution and the size of the world alone would keep me interested for a long time, but it would be nice to have something that made the constant grinding for levels more worth it other than an ability and a stat boost.

Unsure of the things you are asking for, but I can tell you what I am excited about.

Going to war with guilds that threaten your guilds ability to expand. Warring for land, power, wealth. Running gank squads through enemy territory to make the node unsafe for their citizens. Becoming the mayor of a node and making your citizens happy, doing community outreach in your node. Securing boss kills as a guild and getting all your members as much gear as possible. Diplomacy and making friends and enemies out of other guilds. Caravan gank squads to make the game harder for enemy guilds and get materials for yourself in a fun way. Theres always BGs, Arenas, open world dungeons to grind.

There's gonna be A LOT to do and I am very excited.

"Endgame" is potentially a problem hence why we are discussing things like meaningful PvE content on another topic.

Maybe consider the following quotes from the wiki:
    End game

There is not going to be a typical end-game in Ashes of Creation.[202]

Part of the whole experience with nodes is that there is no real end-game, in that the world is constantly shifting every day. Month one is going to be really different from month two; and that's for the level 50s and level 1s.[202] – Jeffrey Bard

We want the game to be a living game, which means that all content should be relevant at all times. I’d say that we try to make as little distinction between the leveling up experience and the end game experience as possible. The whole journey is important to us, in order to maximize the fun people have during different stages of the game.[203] – Sarah Flanagan
I personally fear that it will play out similar to for example GW2 where you really enjoy leveling but you won't really find a reason to keep going once leveling is over.

There are definitely things like sieges or Node advancements that will maybe trigger fun stuff to happen but it is hard to imagine right now that there will be meaningfull challenges in every aspect of the game you can work towards.

They literally want to have as little distinction between "endgame" and the leveling experience as possible.

Also, Story wise. They keep it all hidden until launch on purpose.
