Seasons and the passing of time.

Maybe I am overthinking this, but how will time pass in the 4 seasons monthly event? Are we really going to have 12 years pass in-game over the course of 12 months? I know they said we will see 4 seasons per mouth, meaning 1 season each week. based on the real world, that means 1 year per month of time passing. Will NPCs get old over this time period, and be replaced by their younger kids? Will we see trees grow faster over this fast-paced seasonally change, and other trees die off?

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of seasons changing over time. But maybe we should slow it down just a little? Maybe 1 month per season change, maybe set it to real lifes changes? Just something to think about, might be cool to see at 1st, all the changes to the areas week by week, but what about after 1 year of gameplay, then 2 years? Will you still like the fast pace of seasons?

We will not know how it will affect everyone's gameplay over time, but hey that's what the alpha is for right. So what do you all think about this topic?

    Bart Simpson is still a kid in his show. I think we are good in AoC. Time can work differently in this world or they can just simply ignore this and I would be ok with that also.

    Even in the Simpson people have died off on the show. Plus they have changed the characters over time, that's aging them in away.

    1 month is way too long. It can cause visual fatigue. I think ideally it should be 1 or 2 weeks max.

    They probably decided on 1 week for a reason. We just have to wait and see what that reason is.

    4hours= 1 day or night
    8 hour= 1 day/night cycle
    24 hours= 3 day/night cycles
    1 week = 1 season/21days
    1 month= 1year/84 days

    Apparently Vera is very close to it's Sun or is actually a moon of a bigger planetoid. 🤓

    I have seen a couple of SciFi shows deal with a planet like this, on both shows time past very fast on them. we are talking centuries passing in a few hours. Now that was fast time.

    As long as it’s relatively predictable and somewhat sensical (e.g. not every 15 min, and not one season per year), I’m good.

    Could you imagine seeing something like Jupiter at night instead of the moon?

    Or have two sun's. The one you orbit, and the one that your sun's orbiting?

    Or instead of your sun orbiting another sun a super massive black hole visible at night?
