Player made points of interest?

Just an idea/question i was thinking about while watching some streams.

Is or will there be something that players will be able to put down in the world, say like a camp, pillar, sign ect. that will provide buffs or boosts? So like i would put down a campsite that would either heal or provide a temporary buff (crafting, XP gain, speed, ect.) to players that access it or are around it.

It could be tied to a skill, so the higher the skill the better the site (different level buffs, the ability to teleport back to the nearest town. things along that line). In addition the site would have a timer, durability, ability to be attacked by mobs so that they where never around forever as well as a radius to avoid spam/griefing. Players or owners would have to maintain the site with common materials to keep it around.

What are your opinions?

    What you're describing is kinda close to what freeholds do.

  • SWG instituted campsites (by popular demand), similar to what you are invisioning. Unfortunately, it became unpopular, because all the entertainers (bards) weren't getting any exp, because everyone was at their campsite, and not the cantina.

    I'm not saying; same games. Just saying.
  • I do like the idea of player made POIs. Funny, I was dreaming about player made persistent effigies, last night.

    Something like; building a shrine, in the middle of the woods, or a statue. Just because, no other purpose. Well, maybe buffs or heal, for a coin. What ever.

    Just funny thoughts. I want a core game, first. 😁

    i see that. something more like passing through so you wouldn't have any reason to spend a lot of time there. Walk by, get the buff, continue on your way. something that would help but would also be kinda insignificant

    if not a skill maybe something like the monster coin system. it could be an uncommon drop with different tiers/abilities.

    but i agree, core game first :p
