Double the Bounty, Double the Fun? Religious Node Benefit Idea

The benefits of the Religious nodes aren't announced yet, so if there's ideas in contention still, yours truly would like to propose that he bounty of your Freehold's resource-harvesters be bolstered.

As we all universally know and accept (am laughing as I'm typing this), God controls the weather IRL; Shouldn't the Gods of AoC control both the weather and the bounty of crops and natural resources, in-game?

Hmm... my first thought was this was going to be about increasing Mando's profits.

Interesting idea. I wonder if attacking that node would bring a god's ire upon the attacking node... can I use logic and reason to debuff a religious node? ;)

I don't know where they are going with divine nodes, but a focus things like rain dances working would be something that I would enjoy seeing if they did it

Not sure if you already know this, but the gods/goddesses in Ashes will be physical beings that you can see and interact with. I think that would throw a wrench in many of the logical arguments used against religion IRL.

I didn't. Interesting. To your last point, history has a near infinite collection of religious deities that were physical beings you can see and interact with - e.g. King Tut to Jim Jones. Being corporeal doesn't make it less absurd, just easier to unmask.

But I digress. I wonder if we can pit the gods against each other? Or defile a node's head church? Steal a sacred artifact? I bet a ranger with an epic ark could do some solid dps. Not that I would EVER consider such an act of blasphemy.

Whist not sure of the idea for just a single node, your idea does spur other thoughts.

Perhaps the Node Mayor could have some control over the level of bounty similar to taxes.
Then the Mayor might be responsible for creating a safer haven for players at either end of the scale.

Worthless bounties leading to a chaotic state and safe haven for pvp`ers
Prized bounties leading to a police state and safe haven for pve`ers.

OoooOOOoOoOhh! Good thought. If deities/Gods/Goddess are something tangible and able to be interacted with... What sort of splendid Gifts & Blessing will be bestowed unto us, if we gain our Goddess FAVOR?!

    This makes me excited! ^_~

    An interesting concept!

It begs the questions of persistence - and location. Maybe even a unique NPC or something akin, to bolster the Node's defenses in the case of a siege?

Lately, have also been picturing something akin to 'blessings and curses': Perhaps a Religious Node should be able to either contribute a blessing and thus added bounty - or a curse and thus lowered production - to the resource-harvesters/farm output for the Freeholds in neighboring Nodes?

I wonder if a there could be "generic" (not tied to a specific religion/god) artifacts, giving something for the faithful to compete for, looking to gain the favor of their god.

Not sure what this favor could be, but something like this would be neat.
