It's hard to tell. I have dealt with these opinions both IRL, and in every MMO I have played that has controller support. Never once met one that did not die every chance they got. XD
If I had more time, I would write a shorter post.
Look man I like punching things and when the metaphorical punching bag walks up to me and screams punch me my only question is, "For how long?"
I would say till the mods come in

TOTALS
Keyboard + Mouse: 5.5
Controller: 3.5
Controller has advantages in some areas (particularly better than WASD, has ergonomics and trigger buttons), but keyboard and mouse are just too powerful overall (mouse is OP, typing in chat, interacting with UI in general)
Plus, the difference between WASD and a joystick for movement isn't the end of the world. Especially when the mouse provides much more powerful strafing.
Even without this, i think keyboard has the advantage of shift, control, and alt which quadruples the number of buttons you can use.
I've also been a naga user since the mouse came out.
Oh we have no problem having them be useable its just the OP said they are SUPERIOR to keyboard and mouse
But, @Sathrago said it the best:
Omg, I laughed so hard at this video! I have tears. Thanks @daveywavey for posting it.
This is an accurate description of console vs. PC for many games. I remember Summit1G commenting about how easy it was to kill Xbox kids in Sea of Thieves for this very reason. Also that; it's easy to tell who is using a control vs. keyboard & mouse based on how they moved & turned and fought. He would dance around them for sport and laughs before inevitably putting them down.

They have loads more, too. Give them all a watch, you'll be laughing all the way through.
I use one finger for this, my middle finger. This leaves my pinky for pressing modifier buttons like alt, ctrl and shift as well as z and x, my ring finger for ~ through 2, and my index finger for 3 - 7, as well as e, r, t, y, f, g, h, and that leaves my thumb to get any remaining letters and space.
The only time this is difficult is if I need to move my character, and also press ctrl+P, while also still using the mouse. Everything else is within easy reach, without needing to look. I will on occasion add in a second finger for controlling if it is needed, but this is rare, as most games allow a good amount of controlling to be done with the mouse, along with controlling the camera.
I admit my ring finger may be more dexterous than most, but that is just from using it in this manner. Perhaps your reason you think controllers are superior is because you are not very good with a keyboard.
Until we get some matrix level dive technology I don't think that is likely to change. Nice try I guess though. For a joke anyway I don't think it could be taken as anything else.

Console controls by design have less buttons, typically because console games don’t require more than that, or rely on combination button presses for many things that PC players would have a single keybind for. Personally I find dual-button combos awkward, even using a keyboard.
Besides that, using an MMO mouse offers anywhere from 6 - 18 extra keybinds all available without lifting a finger off WASD. From WSAD most people can also easily reach 1 - 5, Q, R, F, G, Z, X, C, and V. Most can also reach H, B, T, and Y barely leaving the WASD position.
Ashes isn’t a FPS, but precision does matter. Quick camera shifts are necessary to stay aware of an entire fight. Using a mouse tied to camera motion will always be more accurate and faster than a gamepad can provide.
In short, console controllers are made for games with much more limited actions than you’ll have in an MMO. That’s why PC developers usually don’t sink a lot of resources into a hardware choice that the game wasn’t really designed for.
