It wasn't until I came upon an Orc clan in TES: Skyrim. I cannot remember the name or the chieftain, but I remember setting my eyes upon the savagely built fort and said to myself "Time to go see what is wrong with these animals." The chief approached and the conversation went well (I was ready for a fight based on the stories of Orcs from TES: Oblivion). I do not remember the conversation verbatim with the Orc Chief, but I specifically remember that loyalty, integrity, perseverance, self control, and an indomitable spirit is what fueled these guys and most importantly, they were allowed multiple mates if they were chieftain. Practically the whole village was up and out of the main chief's house at night. I remembered.... I sat there and watched as one after another (with time in between of course) enter the chief's hut and stay for a hour at bare minimum. Out came Shiva, in went Porché.
Jaw agape and I was sold. Sold at the fact that these barbaric, green skinned savages knew how to party and live life.
Seriously though, most people feared what they did not know. Orcs are rare in the sense when it comes to the fantasy world and are almost always perceived as savages and brutes. Then you get the Vek. A star gazing, fateful people capable of navigating seas and predicting the future. In most universes, orcs are just elves that evolved differently and this blew my mother f****ng mind at the time. I always viewed orcs as a completely different species from the rest. Though, with my changed perspective and new knowledge, I came to a new conclusion of our green skinned friends. They might look ugly and they might be able to lift two horses at once, but that doesn't change the fact that they can still cast magic, have multiple sexual partners, and in this specific case in AoC, they are literal space orcs.
Have always loved the Cosmic Reaver skin of Kassadin in LoL and I have a feeling that these orcs are going to be quite different from the norm of orcs with cosmic robes and celestial magic. At least I hope so, but lets be honest...
I like the the idea of an intelligent race of star gazing orcs that are maybe not as superior in the physical department, but can bet your two cents has more of an affiliation with magic and the occult. I like space, unconventional ideas, magic, and the idea of polygamy, so therefore, the Vek are the race for me.
If Intrepid changes ma babies to something else... I might just make a smooth skinned, tailless, Tulnar that looks like Clinton (either one) and troll the underrealm, idk.
I can't stand when I'm running and it looks like I have a broken back, or if I'm running / walking and it looks like I'm exploiting bag slots by having a staff stored up my backside
