Difference between Castles and Castle Nodes?

What's the difference?
Wiki references 5 castles (each controlling 20% of the server's economic regions) and are sieged during 4th week of each month.
Also references 3 castle nodes which are also sieged.

How do these differ? What are the currently stated benefits of a guild owning a castle vs. a castle node?

    you can't own a castle node.

    Castle nodes are 3 small military nodes around each castle. Week 1-3 the attacking guild attacks these castles nodes. In week 4 the castle itself.

    Failing to take down the castle nodes in week 1-3 means that the defender will get additional defensive advantages during week 4
