Would metropolis’ have a better merchant economy?

I am wondering if the merchants in a metropolis will be buying goods at a lower amount? Let’s say merchants are buying wolf skins at $5 during stage 3. As the city grows it will attract more people which will be selling that merchant more wolf skins. Because this merchant is now receiving a large amount of wolf skins, is he now going to buy at say $1?

However, I don't feel that it would make any sense to have *player* goods cost more/less just because it's bought/sold in a certain city. Sales tax might cause some difference, but I believe that's to be set by the mayors.
We haven't been told exactly how the economy will work with regards to selling and buying items with NPCs. Stay tuned for more information
