Hi, this is gonna be extremely difficult for me to explain so i hope i make sense.
What i'd love to see, is things that randomly appear in the game that causes myths, theories and rumors to spread which leads to an event!
To visualize this for you, imagine theres a massive mountain in the game and one day there's a gigantic dragon circling around it ingame for a week long. Conversation sparks and spreads in social media, theorizing what this dragon is and what the purpose is which brings the community together socially. After a certain amount of time passes, an ingame event is announced that a dragon named [_____] has launched an attack on the people, and you can fight him at the foot of the mountain. Clans and players come together to plan on attacking this dragon (Ofc he should be too strong for a simple party or raid to kill him) and everyone that participated is rewarded by an item.
This is just an example i created from the top of my head, but if every now and then there's a random ''secret'' unannounced event like that, there's a reason for people to stay socially connected in the game and it creates healthy and fresh content which keeps people tied to the game + it directly creates lore!
I do want to note, i believe that events like this remaining unannounced is a BIG thing, because it lets players theorize and use their own fantasy to fill in what that creature is doing there which is fun and is vital to bringing the community together, since if everyone already knows, no one will talk about it.

I hope my idea is taken into consideration and isnt too stupid, i just love creating concepts which i believe would be awesome to see ingame. Thanks for reading! Feel free to discuss about the pro's and con's, im extremely interested in what the rest of the community thinks of this.

I think it's great for inviting curiosity.
Also reminds me of Fortnite's events - where they have something huge in the background that comes to life at certain times.
Would love it if the dragon attacked for quest/raid reasons rather than just a timer ticking down.
e.g. There are 3 Dragon War Horns around the mountain that need to be repaired. Then if all three horns are blown simultaneously, the whole of Verra hears it, dark stormy clouds appear above the mountain and the dragon descends.

I believe AoC Can do it right
Yeah! Like a 'secret' quest that you start once you blow the horns, with a popup ''Quest started, defeat yada yada''. What's also an idea, is that it attacks a node and the guilds within that node have to band together to protect it.
Same! It's something i have really been missing. I believe it makes you feel part of something you cant experience everyday.
Day 3: The ground shakes for longer.
Day 5: Smoke rises from the nearby mountain.
Day 7: The volcano erupts, and Fire Beasts swarm down the mountainside to attack the nearby city!
Day 2: City NPCs talking about guards going to investigate.
Day 3: City Guards talking about missing guards to the West.
Day 4: Undead rise from the swamp to the West and attack the nearby city!
I could have a lot of fun with this thread...
Day 1: The volcano goes dormant
Day 2: Rumours of lava rivers around the mountain stopped flowing
Day 4: Lava has cooled, you can now cross over - chambers of rare minerals reported inside
Day 9: A giant cavern discovered with some sort of Egg at the bottom, searching for a way down
It's certainly looking promising
Ok maybe if is a lore event yes, but for example and world boss shouldn't have reward for every one, should bring competition to the table or will be what gw2 are, irrelevant bosses in static places that no one care anymore... Because they have killed that bosses without any risk a bazillion times
Im loving the ideas haha, brainstorming ideas is awesome.
I understand this, although i believe there should be a reward for all participants. Perhaps the guild/group that dealt the most damage should get the 'main' items like the rare weapons or whatever but imo i think there should also be a default reward. I.e. rare materials like dragon scales to craft weapons/armour/tools.
The reason for this, is that if players have committed all this time connecting and grouping up and spending their time fighting this boss, it would be frustrating to be rewarded with nothing. There should be competition, but allow them to still be rewarded with some useful items to help level up for the next time something happens. Otherwise power creeping will happen, where the best guilds just hoard all the best items and the underdogs cant do anything, we need to give them opportunity aswell.
I haven't found any but i believe they did say there's going to be a 'lore' section on the website.
Can't believe i havent seen this video, i feel so dumb now haha. Yes, like that! And preferably very large scale and not too repetitive. I'd love to see a towering dragon the size of a few buildings stacked on top of each other, not the size of a wow mount. I wanna look up to it, that way it feels like a real challenge to overcome it and it'd be such a cool sight seeing everyone smacking the feet of this dragon and the archers/mages shooting arrows and spells at its head.
