Art museums and in game art support.

One feature I would love to see is people being able to create visual art to sell for player homes and post in museums. It would be great if there was support for utilizing outside programs or an in game art studio to allow people to make in game art. I think this would support a large aspect of gaming communities that make art out of game.

This would need some level of filtering nsfw or explicit pornographic material but I think in general this will create a powerful culture in the game. This could be implemented in religious or economic nodes only allowing for people to travel long distances to see amazing art. It would be a driving factor for in game conflict as well gathering art prices for a homestead.

I think supporting the artistic community in game with these tool would change the mmo world for ever.

Sounds like a menace to filter, but a part of me would really love to share art like that...

Maybe the community could help filter

Yes, we should allow the rulebreakers to determine if the rules are broken and if they should be punished... You can't have corrupt judges judging their own actions.

It has been to my experience, that if you allow trash to come in, trash will definitely come in. For some reason, the inmature people tend to blast their inmaturity everywhere they can and as much as they can.

Yeah, you'd walk into a home, and there'd either be penises, swastikas, or some other image that Ashes won't want to be associated with.

Playing a game right now called "Dual Universe". It allows you to have up to 5 outside Images in the game per account. The images of course have a EULA, and must be reviewed before making it into the game, but the upside is that it allows some custom art in the game.

This could work for ashes so long as it is just for housing related art. I would not want to see a bunch of user uploaded images around the game world. Go to any market place in Dual Universe to see the worst case scenario. The idea of allowing a handful of user uploads per account to decorate houses/guild halls with is not that bad.

Personally I think I would make a solid portrait of my character to sit above the fire place in my mansion. It would be better than the way FFXIV does it. Its just a bunch of stupid posters of characters I want nothing to do with for in game housing art.

If I had more time, I would write a shorter post.

This would be my custom image, just so that no-one can complain that it's not in-game:

It's a kind of ancient Verran mount. The ancient texts tell of a creature so strong and tough that it could resist the attacks of multiple enemies at once. They called it a "Tank" (stems from the even more ancient languages where it was called a "T'an-kai"), which is what spawned the archetype name that we have today.

There we go. It's lore now!
