Hi everyone,
I have a quick question that I couldnt find the answer to. It seems like a basic one, so maybe someone can just quickly clarify that for me:
How will the node affiliation be determined? Does that depend on which starting gate you pick? Or do you just at some point choose it? Or is it complietely free and without restrictions?
Specifically, me and my friends were discussing this as we learned about the siege system. Node affiliation seems like an important topic there, because, of course, you wouldnt have to siege a highly developed node if you could just join it.

There are restrictions.
Primarily, you need to have real estate within the node you want to become a citizen of. This could be an open world freehold, a static house within the node or an instanced apartement.
