Now this is actually my first post here, so I apologize if its in the wrong place; If it is feel free to direct me to a better suited category

Now I'm sure that by now, most of you reading this have already heard your fare share of reasons or suggestions about vampires and werewolves being in the game. And by now you've probably realized that I'm no different. However I still want to say my piece, and give a little bit more of a compressive idea as to what I think this should be like - if its implemented at all. (Of course this is just my opinion. I know it doesn't effect much, but hopefully it will be a fun read at least. And if somehow this does inspire any important game mechanics.... well that would just be pretty dope)

Okay so first, in keeping with the whole idea of having Ashes be a true MMO, and being able to FULLY make your character who YOU want it to be, I think that both lycanthropy, and vampirism should be playable with any and all play styles. Now I'm not one-hundred percent sure how combat will work in this game, but from my brief research it seems at though there will be different damage types. And based of of what I have seen, there are abilities that revolve around weapons and the like, and abilities that revolve around magic. Now for most MMOs it seems that vampires are purely magical, and werewolves are purely stamina based/weapons based. But what I purpose, is that both of them have possible aspects of both. Something similar as soon seen below. Now of course there may be some limitation of COMPLETE customization, because you cant have the Lycanthropes and the Deblooded have the same exact abilities - that would be silly. So there imaginably must be some sort of barrier. And with that said, there would of course also have to be some negative effects, so that the abilities of both sides are mitigated, and there is an actual reason to play as a regular flesh and blood mortal instead of just having every player in the world being one or the other because of the bonuses.

Here are some of the examples of some Abilities (A), Passives (P), and Negative effects (N), that I believe would be an interesting idea.
~Deblooded~
(Vampire)
Magic
Stamina/weapon
Magic costs _%less (P)
Stamina costs _%less (P)
at night magic regenerates _% (P)
at night Stamina regenerates _% (P)
Take _% life essence from enemy (A)
Invisibility makes you harder to detect for _sec (A)
Turn into a bat to move fast, reduce _% damage taken (A)
Increase speed of attack, and reduce _% (A)
Take _% more damage in sun (N)
Holy powers deal _% more damage (N)

This is merely the barebones of what could be, but my thought is that the longer you go without feeding, the stronger all the percentages get.
~Lycanthrope~
Magic
Stamina/weapon
Magic costs _%less (P)
Stamina costs _%less (P)
at night take _% less damage(P)
at night wolf form is _% faster(P)
Unleash howl, making enemies take _% more damage(A)
Summon pack o' wolves (1,2,3 wolves) (A)
Slash with (Ice,storm, dire, etc) doing elemental damage (A)
Attack stuns enemies and big damage (A)
transformation can take up to _secs(N)
Silver weapons do _% more damage (N)

Here I'm thinking that the fazes of the moon would influence the percentages. The fuller the moon the stronger you are - the good percentages go up, the bad down. Similarly, as the moon wanes, the positives go down, and the negatives go up. HOWEVER, this would not necessarily be the case. It could be entirely revolving around the level of your Lycanthrope blood. The more levels you put into it, the more the percentages are effected by the moon. But if you only have lycanthropy, and you have not leveled up your blood, then the percentages stay at a relatively low level. this way both vampires and werewolves have ways to either have large negatives and large positives, or slight bonuses, and slight penalties. from my point of view, this would be an amazing feature, and it would be very unique, when compared to most other games.

Now when it comes to how one gets either of these uniquities, I Fully believe that these should be findable throughout the world. Now there are a couple different ways this could be handled. The could have their origins in a natural disease, a curse, or even a blessing.

Now what could be an interesting idea, is that it could be a religion - or at least a part of a religion.
But if it were a religion in and of itself, I believe it would have to be a religion found while delving into the depths of a catacomb or a shaman ruin or something. And if was part of a religion, it should be a side quest, that you only get after doing specific things in the name of your specific god OR after a member of that religion biting you, then unlocking a side quest to either cure yourself, or to celebrate your gods blessing, by allowing it to progress.

If it were a disease, than it could be something that is SOLELY transmitted through players, and once again you can chose to get rid of it, or advance it.

OR like I said before, it could be a curse, by a rival god, or by an angry priest after blaspheming their god; And so you are cursed with an insatiable hunger for blood... or for the hunt.

I would like to add though, that I think both of these should - mostly if not entirely - be transmittable through the player base.
Vampires by bite, and werewolves by drinking their blood or something. I'd also like to add that I think that it would be interesting if depending on which side you have more point in (magic vs. Stamina), your appearance (or fur in wolf form) would change appearance.

It'd also be cool if they added cosmetics for vampires and wolf-form in the Ember store

Now these are just a few of the ideas that I think would make this ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC!... But that's just me - and hopefully some of you too.

Either way I REALLY enjoyed writing this, and the more I wrote the more passionate I became, haha.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. If it happens that you do, Id also be happy to share my thoughts on what the lore behind these things could be, lol. But in the end, it all falls to the developers of the game entirely. And I REALLY hope that they add vampires and werewolves in one day.
