Artisan Classes dependency on Combat classes level

Would you need to be say level 30 combat archetype to be able to level your artisan professions? I know that monster drops are a big part of the materials you need to craft good stuff anyway but still: would there be a pop-up saying "You need to progress to level 20 tank to be able to progress on this blacksmith quest"?

    If you had the gold you could just buy the materials from other players.
