Will destroyed nodes leave a ruin?

Does anyone think destroyed nodes might leave a ruin?
I mean might be best left for post launch as coding how it would leave buildings that may have another node built on them would be awkward, but I think it would be cool for an echo of a lost metropolis or city of the players creation to be left, ideally inhabbited by monsters, like a weird incidental player created dungeon.
