Being able to distinguish yourself or your guild with a unique look has always been a nice feature that some games more or less incorporate.
I feel like being able to have like a shield or a tabard, or any other cosmetic that is realted to your guild or other society makes the experience a lot more immersive and people feel more prestigious when they are in such societies.
As I would see it - crafters would be able to create schematics for themselves or their societies (you would be also able to sell it to less artistic people), crafting would require some ingredients based on colors and base used and having such schematic. Guilds would have a slot for coat of arms schematic and the leader would be able to set above which ranks people would be able to use it. (or you could have multiple cosmetics for each rank)
That could also be used in castle sieges - knowing who has a certain rank could prove a tactical advantage, as killing for example enemy leader would give advantage to you.
There would be certainly some issues to overcome, such as preventing people from depicting nsfw stuff or deciding if such things should be solely cometics or whole items.

Seems likely that guild crafters would be able to create a unique appearance for the guild via guild recipes.
"Emblems can be applied to guild armor that can be purchased from the node.[35]"

It might not be exactly what you're describing, but if that system is in place there may be something similar added on a smaller scale for personal guild options.

Also, I would love to have some sort of in-game logo designer for your guild. You should then be able to plaster that logo onto a guild tabard/scapular/surcoat that you can have in any color.
Hand them out to your guildmates and there ya go. Instant recognizable faction at a glance
Jeffrey and Steven have both said those are planned. Yes.
Thanks for the confirmation ^^
I did not doubt that in some way that would be implemented, however i'm suggesting to make it an actual process to create such items that would require certain amount of resources and skills and optionally like 'guild level' requirement, so that your guild can show off their wealth and prestigue.
It would be also nice to be able to draw in game your guild's logo (no copy paste from images), so that it would look like paint.
I would not be surprised if such items were recipes that required resources and crafting.
I might also expect that there could tiers of quality based on the tier/rank of the guild.
We don't know enough about guild perks to weigh in on that meaningfully.
