Loot Underwhelming

So a few adventurers and I were exploring in the world when we came across a named mob with +5 by its name. I was playing a cleric so people felt confident in attacking. It was a tough fight as there were adds we did not count on. We got it done after a few minutes with me down to single digit mana and their health barely alive. It was really, really fun. Then one of us got a Grand essence...I know this is alpha, but the essence system is boring. Some recommended changes below
1. Animals should drop skins, meat, claws, etc. for the crafting system or just trash loot for gold.
2. Named mobs should drop unique items for crafting that would enhance a standard recipe. For example, a hilt that has increased critical chance or accuracy that can replace any hilt in any recipe within the level range of the mob killed.
3. All mobs can contain related loot that the mob would normally have for all crafting. Bears having some fish on them for potion crafting comes to mind.
The bottom line is the loot was boring, but I agree that I do not want to kill a bear and have it drop a sword. Please do not bring in the World of Warcraft loot system. Just enhance this one a bit.

Oh, that's good to hear. I still thing the wrong loot could really ruin the game's economy and would love more discussion on it, but that's good to hear.
