Dodge mechanic

I finally had a good 8 hours to dedicate to AoC. I know that's not much for a lot of other testers, but my life is busy and that's all I've been able to set aside for now. It was enough time to get used to the controls, and get a few characters to lv2, 4, and 5. I find the active dodge hotkey to be very clunky. holding LCNTL + direction to dodge is not something my fingers can physically do quickly due to injuries. Can we PLEASE have the option to double tap the direction like ESO... I know it's a feature from another game... but it actually allowed me to competitively dodge in pvp encounters

    for me a soso im not so into double taping wasd i like if its on a single button but you can switch the keybind luckly and for me i would ether get it to my mouse or to letter C
    but since letter C is currently used for Character window and that aint listed in the list i cant change it.
    but what i also see useable is to set in on alt

    i agree that it needs to be moved from left ctrl

    I don't mind having a double tap added for dodge, but please never remove the active dodge hotkey function. That would ruin my setup.

    I agree that the current setup should stay, I'm just asking for the option to double tap. The verbiage in my OP didn't clarify that. I shall edit.

    With the ability to rebind keys I don't see this as being and issue too much. The biggest complaint that I have with playing the Alpha and dodging is the cool down for the next dodge. If you accidentally hit your dodge button because the mechanics of a boss were supposed to pull you in and didn't, you don't get to dodge again for a while and are then punished for not timing your dodge correctly since one is available ever 5 seconds. If this is the case then I think it should also apply to running. If dodge is a stamina consumer and requires a cool down then you should not be able to infinitely sprint with your character. (yes I know mount sprinting is a skill with cooldowns) If the dodge/roll animation is completed you should be able to roll again. If a stamina system is implemented then this should be allowed until your character runs out of stamina.

    I'm a big fan of double tapping wasd to dodge. I definitely had to move dodge off of cntl to make it more useful in a bind. Also having a visible cool down would be nice to know exactly when it's available again. I understand this isn't a priority and will likely happen so I'm not worried lol. But yes on the double tap to dodge!

    Coming from gw2, binding V as dodge was very nice -- easy to quickly hit with the thumb
