Hey there,

I would really like to play more AoC in its current stage but I think my computer won't handle it somehow.
No matter the settings, I just dont get a smoothe experience, on low average fps seem to be good but I get drops every few seconds.

my hardware:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @stock
MSI MPG B550 Mini-ITX
2x 4 GB 2666 MHZ G.Skill RAM
AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT @8 GB
1x Crucial 480 GB SSD (95% lifetime) 1x Crucial 240 GB SSD 99% lifetime
650W NZXT power supply in the NZXT H1 case
OS: Windows 11 Insider Preview

I have no issues in other games, even tried to reinstall the AMD driver. I think the RAM is not enough could this be true?
My old RAM (16GB in total) died somehow so I put the ones listed above in my computer cause I had them laying around.

In best regards

Mouma

I just checked the resource usage when I play, and it does take up about 9-10 GB of RAM. So there is a good chance that your RAM is a bottle neck in this case. I would also not be surprised if the new windows OS was the culprit.

Hi there friend! It sounds like perhaps RAM might be the culprit here as both yourself and someone else have mentioned - while our recommended specs currently call out 8GB as the minimum required for lowest settings, many have noted that their average RAM usage sits a bit higher than that right now while we're still in the early optimization stages.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread out now, but please don't hesitate to reach back out if there's anything else we can assist you with in the meantime!
