A suggestion for easy minion control with a summoner

Let’s say your minions are buttons 1-3 (wiki says you’ll have control of 3 minions total unless I miss read) and you then summon them. Instead of pressing 1-3 again to un summon them you instead have to hold control, alt, etc. With your minions summoned you can just now aim your cursor at a target and repress 2 for example and you will order that minion to attack with its own given ability. The opposite could be done for individual control on sending that minion by simply holding down 2 for a 1 second duration or simply press and hold 1-3 to direct all minions to that location and same with attacks.
Let me know what you guys think of those because I’m primarily a warlock/summoner in games and have seen people discuss in YouTube how controlling your minions can be a tricky task for the devs so there for I just wanted to give my 2cents

As for your suggestion, I dislike the idea of having to hold down additional buttons too often. I would prefer there to be a system where your minions will automatically attack the target you are on BUT with the option to "hard target" something of your choice. Maybe you want to focus on one healer while sending your 3 summons to a second healer. Here is where hold alt and attacking may send them there, then you can go back to attacking the first healer while they stay on that second one.
Sorry I should of clarified, the only reason to hold down said button would be too force move that minion but otherwise it would just stay in a certain range if your character while on your travels. Obviously there are flaws like if you press 1 and your minion attacks one target but then you attack another then does your first minion switch targets or stay focused on the target you assigned it? It was just a quick idea I had thought of and I feel it could potential be built on for somthing solid. TLDR if you played gw2 I love their system but I feel AoC could improve could build of their minion system
I think your system is good for advance retreat and unsummon commands. It seems me and Khronus are on the same page in that regard.
I agree, maybe just scrap the hard move option and just have a hard focus attack
I really hope they are ready to start testing summoner right off the bat in alpha 2. Pet AI can be such a finicky thing and I hope they actually nail it with rigorous testing.
From reading their goal for the summoner most of the summoners abilities are going to be done through the summons so that makes getting the AI and responsiveness that much more important. A hunter or warlock in WoW dish out the majority of their damage from the character themselves so if my pet bugs out it’s not the end of the world, but with the majority of the abilities being done through our summons in AoC a buggy summon has the potential to make the summoner broken in a bad way.
Also this is obviously all speculation but the summoner will have “up to” 3 summons, and some will only have one based off of the wiki. That makes me assume that someone doubling down as a summoner/summoner can have 3, but the other augments may vary. I personally wouldn’t be surprised if only the summon/summoner had 3.
That is definitely not the impression I got. If they are not only 'keeping things to only one summon at a time' but also 'only letting people have one summon for each trinity aspect' I would suggest they rethink the latter as that is limiting for basically no reason. The necromancer crew is gunna be upset about the former.
But, I also think people are not limited to only one Summon for each trinity type.
But...we shall see.
Doubling down with a Summon augment on a Summon ability might call forth more multiples of stuff Summoned sure.
Hey I am just going off what I heard Steven say in an Interview recently. Summoners are going to be able to tank dps or heal depending on the pet they summon and other augments they choose. After looking at the wiki and seeing Stevens quote again it is a little confusing but alright. You can summon up to 3 pets but I doubt these will be the heal tank dps sort of individual summons.
No worries mate. I think we are both just going off of what we interpret The Steve said. I think they have been intentionally vague/confusing about it ( because they haven't had a clear plan on how they want it to work probably).
You are definitely entitled to that interpretation. Summoner is the most up in the air class rn.
“Some summoners may summon multiple things.[12]
Other summoners may only summon one powerful thing.[12]”
I would definitely say that it is heavily implied that certain classes like summoner/summoner may be able to summon multiple at a time, but it does leave a lot of room to go either way.
Doesn't mean the one that can do so will be Conjurer.
Brood Warden seems likely since a brood strongly implies a group/family of things.
We shall have to see.
