Suggestion For AOE Template Abilities Like Mage Lava Storm & Meteor

Right now AOE based abilities feel a little slow to pull off to me because you first have to aim, then press the ability and wait for cast. This makes them really easy to dodge too
My suggestion is to make the cast start instantly when you press the ability and have the AOE template show during the cast for the duration so you could aim the spell while casting, then disappear at the end of cast and DMG happens at that location. I think this would make AOE abilities play a bit better.

Not exactly what i meant but quickcast would be a good option too.
I'll try to give a better example with Meteor since that has a really long cast time.
Meteor right now
1. Press Meteor
2. Big Placeable AOE Circle shows up
3. You aim to location where you want Meteors to drop
4. Press Meteor again (AOE Circle disappears)
5. Cast begins, you cannot move or aim the spell anywhere else
6. Cast ends and Meteors drop at the location you aimed before casting started
My Change
1. Press Meteor
2. Cast Begins and Big Placeable AOE Circle show up at the same time (Circle shows until end of cast)
3. You start thinking where you want Meteors to drop at end of cast (Can't move but can aim 360 around character with same range restriction as now) (Action mode aim) (Hold RMB to turn around in tab mode like now) while casting and you can aim anywhere until end of cast
4. Cast ends, AOE Circle disappears, Meteors drop to location where you aimed at end of cast
Basically with this you could freely aim while casting and hit targets easier if they are moving.
I don't agree. I think the second you place the button, the icon should show on the screen.
My biggest issues with AOE abilities is the targeting system. I have trouble getting my spell to go to the range I want it effectively, taking way too long for me to use the spell.
Also the lack of being able to perform the ability while the other ability is being performed, called skill cancelling. To be able to use an auto attack and use one of the primary skills to overide your auto attack and the same goes with any skills. You can't do a skill while performing another action. While doing a spell, I want to be able to pull up my AOE and kind of pre-cast that ability into the spot I want it so I can chain up my attacks from attack to attack seamlessly without any down time between my global cooldowns.
So right now the spell starts casting after you 1. Press the ability 2. Aim the aoe circle and 3. Press ability again.
With my suggestion You would start casting the spell instantly and have the AOE circle visible during the cast, so you would have the duration of the cast to aim it where you want basically.
Used to be able to press abilities while auto attacking and the ability would go off a while back. No clue why they removed it, it played much better.
