actual crafting system introduction timeframe?

It's pretty obvious that since there are no skills in crafting and a limited placeholder for NPCs, the actual crafting system isn't put into place, even bare bones. Which is why I don't understand people complaining about the gold-sink of disposable schematics to finish up the end of Alpha1.
So, is there an estimate as to which phase the real crafting and gathering systems will begin for testing? I do understand that this phase is stress testing and about combat and questing, so it's definitely not much of a concern, but as a primary crafter in any game that allows it, I'm getting pretty excited about the possibilities.

    I am also excited about the crafting system. The only thing I've heard is alpha 2, but that seems like the generic answer for anything that isn't ready yet.

    I'm totally ready to discuss the future player economy, crafting, and profession systems this game is looking to create.

    Hiya! We'll be continuing to iterate on crafting throughout our upcoming testing - as like you noted, the system is very much placeholder at the moment!

    While we haven't shared an estimate on when certain features would be available at this time, we'll be letting you know in our ongoing test plans what to expect on that front!
